Street Fighter joins the S.H.Figuarts series!
Figures of the world-famous Ryu and Chun Li release simultaneously in April of 2017. This is an early look at factory samples of the “Neo Fighting Bodies” that S.H.Figuarts brings to life!

First, a look at the Neo Fighting Bodies.
It’s the name for a new type of action figure body optimized for replicating fighting characters’ trademark moves without sacrificing any of the features of S.H.Figurarts figures. The 1/12 scale bodies push the envelope for posability and sculpting, drawing out the maximum impact from each fighting character.
※The photos are of prototypes, so the actual products may vary.
※The “Tamashii STAGE ACT.4 for Humanoid” is sold separately.

Here’s a factory sample. Various parts are still being tweaked prior to its release, but the packaging, accessories, and articulation are all pretty much indicative of the final product. The figure is packaged with several optional replacement parts, two background sheets (more about them later), and instructions.

Here’s the star of the lineup: Ryu, a true fighter if ever there was one. His courageous and stern appearance has been captured in approx 150mm size. His trademark gi outfit, and muscles are accentuated with shadow lining for a rich, high-quality appearance. No detail was spared, as you can see from the “fu-rin-ka-zan” kanji characters printed on his black belt.

The Neo Fighting Body’s posing was designed and sculpted along natural muscle lines. That’s how it’s able to take such powerful, natural punching and kicking poses.

In addition, optional faces are included to enhance the fighting poses all the more. In addition to the standard “normal face,” a “shouting face” or a “left-looking face” can be swapped in as well. And in addition to fists, open hands are also included to help replicate throwing moves. The gi and the headband are molded in flexible material so they don’t get in the way of the shoulders or neck.

Of course, the Neo Fighting Body can replicate Ryu’s trademark moves like the Shoryuken and Hadoken! The Hadoken even includes translucent effect parts to let you re-create just what players see on-screen.

The second and simultaneous release in the series is the popular Chun Li! This is the first ever female Neo Fighting Body, so it’s great to display alongside Ryu to appreciate the contrasts.

The figure captures Chun Li’s distinctive silhouette while allowing for a great range of fighting poses. It’s takes the Neo Fighting Body in a different direction than that of Ryu. The waist joints are particularly unique, allowing for a 180 degree spread without any openings, perfectly capturing the beauty of Chun Li’s distinctive leg design.

In addition to a “normal face,” she comes with a girlish “giggling face” and a powerful “shouting face.” Other optional parts are included to let you replicate her Chinese-style fighting moves, and you can even change the angles of the ribbons on her signature hair buns.

The Neo Fighting Body can capture this much of Chun Li’s dramatic legwork! Her clothing is rendered in a flexible material so that she can easily pose in high-kick stances. The figure can even handle difficult poses like the famed Spinning Bird Kick, with legs splayed 180 degrees, and her waist-forward Kikoken punch! The figure also includes translucent effect parts to replicate her Lighting Kick. S.H.Figurarts lets you re-create all of her legwork!

The figures also include unique backdrops to create “virtual displays!” Each comes with two sheets. Ryu’s replicates Forgotten Waterfall(New Zealand), while Chun’s is Bustling Side Street(China). Display both S.H.Figuarts figures in front of them to replicate on-screen fighting scenes!
